Recommender systems help users navigate the vast number of options at their disposal in this era of information. A challenging step is to understand how to select item attributes that best represent the user perception, which is often time consuming and requires domain knowledge and understanding of user behavior. They represent the feature selection as an optimization problem and solve it on a D-Wave system.
