Quantum Annealers as Quantum Laboratories

We design and implement a quantum laboratory to experimentally observe and study dynamical processes in quantum mechanics and quantum field theories. Our approach encodes the wave-function in an Ising model, which is then solved by a quantum annealer. As a proof-of-concept, we measure the probability for tunnelling from the false to true minimum for various tunnelling times, vacuum displacements and potential profiles.
