This report presents a high-level overview of features and performance of D-Wave’s Advantage quantum processing units (QPUs). These QPUs can hold application inputs that are three times larger, on average, than those that fit on previous-generation D-Wave 2000Q QPUs. Be- yond the capacity to read bigger problems, Advantage QPUs deliver significantly better performance than D-Wave 2000Q processors on application-relevant inputs. Furthermore, the “performance update” series of Advantage QPUs released in 2021 outperforms the original Advantage series launched in 2020. We attribute this improved perfor- mance to innovations in chip design as well as new fabrication materials and processes.
